Privacy policy

What we collect

We only collect what you choose to send us. That means the details in our newsletter signup, guest application, sponsorship inquiry, event submission and event correction forms, such as your name, email address, phone number, organization and the message you write.

We do not ask for and do not want Social Security numbers, VA file numbers, medical records, claim documents or any other sensitive personal records. Please do not send them through this website.

How we use it

We use your information to reply to you, review your submission, and send the The Brave Brief if you asked for it. Newsletter consent is separate from guest and sponsor inquiries, so sending one form never adds you to the other list.

Who sees it

Submissions are stored in our own database and are visible only to our staff. We do not sell your information. We share it with service providers such as our email and scheduling tools only to the extent needed to reply to you.

Publicly published events, resources and guest information are editorial content, not personal contact records. We never publish the private contact details from a submission form.

Newsletter and unsubscribing

Every Roundup email includes an unsubscribe link. You can also email us and we will remove you.

Analytics and cookies

We use basic, privacy-respecting traffic measurement to understand which pages are useful.

Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram)

We use the Meta Pixel to measure visits and to show our ads on Facebook and Instagram to people who visited this site. It also tells us when someone signs up for the newsletter, builds a plan or sends a form, without saying who they are.

Meta may collect information about your browser and device, such as the page you visited and your IP address, and may use cookies to do this. Meta handles that information under its own privacy policy.

We also use Google Analytics, linked to Google Ads, for the same purposes: to measure visits and sign-ups and to show our ads on Google to people who visited this site. Google may collect browser and device information and use cookies, under its own privacy policy.

We also use Microsoft Clarity to see how visitors use the site through session recordings and heatmaps. All text is masked, and nothing you type into a form is recorded. We also use the LinkedIn Insight Tag to measure how our ads perform and to show our ads on LinkedIn to people who visited this site. LinkedIn may collect browser and device information and use cookies, under its own privacy policy. The pixel, the Google tag, Clarity and the LinkedIn tag never run on our crisis, health or VA claims pages. That includes Need Help Now, the health pages, the claims tools, Claim Navigator, benefits guides and the help-near-you searches.

We never send names, emails, phone numbers, health information or form answers to Meta, Google, Microsoft or LinkedIn.

To opt out of ads based on your visits, go to facebook.com/adpreferences and adssettings.google.com. Visitors in Europe, the UK and other places that require permission first see a cookie notice. The pixel and the Google tag only run for them after they tap Accept, and they can change their choice at any time.
