The Veterans Crisis Line is staffed 24 hours a day, every day, by responders from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. It is not run by Helping The Brave. You do not need to be enrolled in VA health care or registered with VA to use it.
When you call 988, press 1 to reach the Veterans Crisis Line. Support is available to veterans, service members, National Guard and Reserve members, and their family members and friends.

Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. In a life-threatening emergency, emergency services come first.
