Editorial, source and correction policy

Where our information comes from

Events come from official organizer feeds and published calendars, including VA outreach events, national veteran service organizations and community organizers, plus listings our team enters by hand from an official page. Each listing shows the source and the date we last checked it.

Resources, county service offices and VA facilities are drawn from official government or organization pages. We do not publish a phone number, address or hour of operation we cannot trace to an official source.

We never claim complete coverage. A community, clinic or organization missing from a page has not been excluded on purpose.

How we choose what to feature

Editorial selection sits with our team. We look for organizations that serve veterans and their families, publish clear contact information and operate in the communities our listeners live in. Being featured is never for sale.

Sponsorship disclosure

Paid placements are labeled as sponsored wherever they appear, including episode pages, the events hub and the Veteran Community Roundup. Sponsorship does not influence editorial selection, event publication or resource listings, and it never implies VA approval or an endorsement by veterans generally.

We do not publish audience or download figures we cannot verify. Prospective sponsors receive current figures directly. See the sponsorship page.

Guest standards

Episodes are recorded interviews, not live broadcasts. We confirm a guest's role and organization before publishing it, and we do not state military service, rank or credentials we have not confirmed with the guest. Applying is not a guarantee of an interview. Apply through the guest application.

Submission guidelines

• Submit events that serve veterans, service members, families or caregivers.
• Include an official page or registration link we can verify.
• Give the correct date, time and time zone, and the full venue address.
• Tell us if the event is virtual, and whether registration is required.
• Do not submit claims assistance solicitations, fundraising appeals disguised as events, or anything charging veterans for help they can get free from an accredited representative.
• Do not include personal medical or claim information.

Submissions are reviewed by our staff before anything is published. Submit an event.

Corrections

If a date, address, phone number, link or description is wrong, tell us. Every event page has a report link, and you can email info@helpingthebrave.com for anything else. We check reports against the official source, fix what is wrong and update the last-checked date. Corrections our staff make by hand are protected from being overwritten the next time an automated feed runs.

Cancelled events stay visible and are marked cancelled rather than quietly removed, so nobody drives to something that is no longer happening.
